World Industries Skateboards was started in 1987 by Steve Rocco soon after Rodney Mullen joined the company in 1989. As core skaters shunned the established brands during the skateboarding down turn in the early nineties World Industries quickly became the most popular brand around. World Industries was the forerunner to brands such as Blind, Almost, Darkstar and Speed Demons.
About Mike Crum - World Industries Skateboards Pro
My Crum (born in Dallas, Texas on December 10, 1973) is currently ranked as one of the best skateboarders in the world. He is a vert ramp rider and has contributed to the skateboarding industry in many ways including trick invention, endemic entrepreneurship, signature shoes and film/media appearances. He currently is sponsored by World industries, Lost Clothing, Power Footwear, Boost Mobile and Utopia Optics.
Crum has traveled all throughout the United States, China, Europe, Korea and Canada competing and in 2004 was ranked 7th in the world.
Crum is the owning founder of MPC Productions which is a skateboard and freestyle BMX demo production company that travels with world class professional action sports stars all around America to demonstrate their talents to a variety of audienes. He also runs/owns the C&S Skateshop in Allen, TX.
About Deep Concave
This World Industries Skateboards deck has a deep concave which means the curvature from edge to edge is more pronounced. Boards with deep concaves tend to suit street skaters as the upturned edges help to increase the board feel and response when performing flip tricks. Deeper concaves can also contribute to the stiffness of a deck which can in crease its pop meaning higher ollies and increased deck life.
About World Industries Monster Mold Construction
World Industries Monster Mold construction provides a deep concave which keeps your board snappy and insures it never gets soggy. Where as other boards arc all the way through the center World Industries Monster Mold has a flat centre beam to insure stability where all landings are focused. The combination of the drawn back wings and flat space behind the bolts creates a pocket that perfectly seats your back foot which is where most of your weight is focused. Elongated wings that stretch into the bent of the kick keep the board rock solid for a hellacious pop. These stretched edges give more control and leverage for precision flip tricks.
About Wheel Base
The wheelbase of a skateboard deck is the distance from one pair of inner truck mounting holes to the other inner pair. The average wheelbase is 13"-15" and is determined by the type of skateboarding the deck is designed for, a shorter wheel base increase maneuverability while longer wheelbases have improved stability. A 14" wheelbase is standard for street skating decks, they have better maneuverability than pool, vert and longboard skateboards which require longer wheelbases to help improve their stability at higher speeds.
